After every print? Nope, not for me at least. I do maybe every 10 prints or so? If I did a big PETG print and I’m now and to do PLA in that same area then yeah I’ll wash it, but I also take a lot of care to not touch the build plate with my fingers if at all possible, so really filament residue and dust i are my main reasons for cleaning. Obviously ymmv and different filaments may need a more clean bed than a sticky PLA/PETG, but after every print I wouldn’t say is a requirement by any means
I am printing items to sell that have a large flat surface area with multiple colours that has to be asthetically perfect. It probably isnt 100% necessary, but these are long prints that use a lot of filament so I need to do everything I can to limit failure.
The plate I use for my x1 I have tp use a windex /rubbing alcohol mixture so it doesnt stick to good. You migjt have to do something like that.
I use washing-up liquid and the 99.9% isopropanol microfiber cloths to dry and clean every 10 or more prints (unless it’s a big print job). I don’t use the Glue anymore. I use 3D L.A.C. hairspray. It does not need as much cleaning as the glue stick.
Is that the Glacier or the Frostbite one? I thought the Glacier was flat. Could be wrong though.
I wasn’t aware you could print polycarpeted on a textured PEI build plate without adhesive. I might have to try it because I’ve had nothing but problems getting it to adhere to my build plate.
