Shipping costs in uk

i finally had enough gift cards to order the new h2s adds it to basket and shipping cost alone £90 take into account x1c combo etc just £15 delivery
just seems a little high tbh

delivery charges

P1S/X1C £13
A1mini Combo / A1 Combo / P1P ٤ 10
P1S Combo / X1C Combo £ 15
2S / H2S AMS Combo / H2D / H2D AMS Combo £ 80
H2S Laser Full Combo / H2D Laser Full Combo £90

Its the weight - h2d combo is 42kg package according to specs and that throws it outside standard courier range and lands in pallet delivery and that without good deals is expensive especially with value of package. X1C combo is 22kg and that’s below typical 25kg safe lifting cut-off.
Without gift cards - its cheaper and faster to order from authorized distributor.
Got my P1S delivered in less than 24h when ordered from Additive-X and they also retroactively matched anniversary sales deal. next working day DPD for 7.60GBP. Even their standard delivery got delivered next day DPD when i’ve ordered some filament from them.

They originally said the delivery costs were so high due to a need to arrange a two-person delivery.

I am unsure if they are still saying that given the reality had been almost all deliveries have had a single person.

This would imply they are charging you for delivery requiring two people, but you are receiving a delivery with only one person.

Which means people are being knowingly overcharged for a service they have not been provided.

Yeah its more companies deciding not to follow health and safety guidelines, a 41kg item is classified as a 2 man lift where i work, but technically there is no legal requirement for them to follow that here, which is a shame, but companies are going to try to cut costs
