Should I buy the A1 with the AMS?

I currently have a A1 Mini with the AMS lite and it at least seems much simpler to print from the AMS than from the external spool.
I use the A1 Mini to print small handles for my business and am considering the A1 as there are some handles that are a bit too big for the mini. But I don’t really do multi color prints so the usefulness of the AMS is a bit mixed. Does the A1 do any better with printing from the external?

Even if you don’t do multi-colour prints, another factor to consider is filament backup… if you can rely on the spools not jamming the AMS, it will auto-change to the next compatible roll if so configured. Either way, I wouldn’t imagine it would be much different to the Mini as far as external roll behaviour.

The A1 combo is really nice.

The price of it separately is very expensive, deciding later men’s you will pay a heavy premium to get it.

Using the AMS means all the loading and unloading is automatic, no manual feeding of filament into the PTFE tube.

Having different colours or materials available even if you only use one at a time.

I can’t imagine not having the AMS lite.

If you only use it for materials that can’t be used with the AMS is the only reason. TPU springs to mind (95A).

Yes. Yes, yes, and yes.

You can print models like pass throughs with different colors in just one print, which saves you a lot of time. You don’t have to do ANYTHING to switch colors. Load filament, hit print, badabam. As @MalcTheOracle said, I can’t imagine not having the AMS lite. Yes, for materials like TPU 90A, you can still use the external spool (which I will post a tutorial on later).

Support materials are tedious without a multicolor printer. My printer is currently printing a model with PVA supports which dissolve in water. Saves me time, money, and print fails. Worth it in every single way possible.

It might cost some money right now, but it will save you and worthen it in the long run.

Yes, I didn’t and regret it.

If you love your A1 Mini with AMS, you’ll 100% love the A1 with AMS, though it can get a bit pricey, you can print basically anything, I was thinking of getting the A1 Mini with AMS but when I saw the A1 with AMS in person, I absolutely loved it.

As others and I have said, it can get pricey but it is really ideal.
