Should i upgrade my firmware?

i got a second x1c recently. everything seems to be peachy keen, no significant problems yet. but my firmware with machine and ams isn’t up to date.

with most other devices, i’ve had nightmarish results with upgrading firmware to the most current as it’s released.

here’s what i’ve got vs. current
machine: 01.07.05.00 → 01.08.02.00
ams: 00.00.06.40 → 00.00.06.44

i can see updating the AMS for new filaments, but is there any real benefit to upgrading the machine, or should i just leave it as-is?

If you’re having a problem, and the release notes for newer FW say (or tangentially suggest) one of the changes addresses your problem, upgrade. Otherwise, stick with what works. If you’re not having any issues, there’s nothing to be gained from updating and as you’ll have seen in the forum, some risk associated with doing so.

My X1C is a few revs down. Haven’t seen a reason to update it (or Studio).

Try it, you might like it. Roll it back if you do not.
