The UI says for timelapse, I need to install an SD Card. I do not see a slot anywhere around the front/sides. Is it really just USB Storage that I need to put a thumb drive in?
There isnāt a slot on the side of the screen?
No, there is not⦠[more chars]
Iāve been using USB stick for time lapses and stuff but Iāve been wondering the same thing if Iām missing the microSD slot
That seem somewhat regressive
Too bad the printer OS isnāt more open/android like. I would just mount a network path.
AFAIK the printer only has the usb port for the stick. No more sd card
NO sd card slot, it is a USB on the top left of it. Iād recommend getting a low profile one. I think Samsung has a few.
The time it takes to transfer time-lapses is way faster than before
Too bad. The USB port is a bit of an awkward location. Probably would have been nicer in the back, but that would also be harder to work with.
What would have been nice is Dual USB ports, one in front, one in back, and have USB Ethernet support for the (non-existent) rear port.
Yup got my Samsung FIT USB before the printer arrived.
If you have SD Cards you can get an SD->USB adpater
Personally Iād just get a USB. SD trades reliability and performance for small size. This small size isnāt really necessary for non-portable devices.
The stubby little Samsung USB is the way to go. Less leverage to damage the port if hit. I agree that itās not in a great location.
SanDisk Ultra Fit is what Iām using without any issues so far. So small you donāt know itās there.
Didnāt think about this as I wait for mine to ship⦠how much USB storage are most people buying?
Ended up buying this pack (donāt really need all of them)
Gives a nice set of choices on how you would like to place the thumb drive. Can go out the left, backwards (but it would cover the glass lid), right (but would block the vent), or forward.
I got 32GB, but I didnāt plan on doing timelapses, now that I write this out I kinda wish I had gone with 128
I have a 64gb and the time lapses took up a lot of space
Is there a general xGB/hour print time or anything to go by?
Yes Im glad I grabbed a 256GB Samsung FIT as it was on sale on amazon. Im doing my first print, its a long 13 hour job and a couple of hours in its already at 13.5GB, I can see it filling up very fast.
I also got the 256GB stick from Samsung on Amazon, first wanted to get the 128GB but saw that the write speed for the 128GB is only 60 MB/s and for the 256GB it is 110 MB/s.
