Simple question but I can't find the answer

Hi All,

Simple question. When I used cura I could lift a model off the bed and it would snap down to it. With Bambu studio that doesn’t seem to happen so sometimes prints have supports all around as the model is slightly about the bed. Same issue when I have rotating something to get more edges on the bed.

If I press the lay on face or auto orientate then quite often the model isn’t how I want to print it.

Any help Appreciated.

Thanks

Josh

I’m not sure what criteria auto orient uses to determine which face to place on the print bed, but with the lay of face command, you pick the exact face you want to be flat on the build plate… so shouldn’t be any surprises there unless you’re picking a face that’s not flat?

thanks. sometimes the items have an edge to them e.g. like half a glove. it won’t let click on the edge bit but from what you are saying I could click on the inner part of the glove and it would get that as close to the plate as possible meaning that as many of the edges as possible with be flush.
Thanks for the idea.

Josh
