Simple Software Fillament Tracker

I would love to see a simple addition for how much material is still on a spool.
A simple field that shows how much material is used, starting with a basis of 0g.
That increases with each completed print / interrupted (based on layer), adding the ammount used for it.

The user can then manually reset this to 0 if they add a new spool, maybe set a specific ammount if an already used spool is added.

Could potentially work with the AMS too, if you divide it into External / AMS Slots (0-3).
Since there is plenty of space beneath the actual ‘control’ widget in the ‘device’ tab.

Something simple like that

Yeah I would love to see that. Am I wrong or did they add one for Bambu Spools?

I’m pretty sure bambu spools are tracked in the ams for usage, but I wish they added a percentage instead of just using a bar of how much is left on the spool. I do know it’s not super accurate.

Is it for AMS Lite too? I have an AMS Lite and was wondering if it worked…

Not sure about the ams lite, I have the regular ams, and even the handy app has a bar graph showing how much material is left in the spool.

Good to know this already exists for the AMS.
I dont have one so I didnt know until now, but I still think it would be great if we could see it for the external / back mounted spool too.

Esepcially since they already have the functionality of it, and in percentage / weight numbers rather than a bar like mentioned.

@Neuffexx Don’t know if it would work, because it might need RFID to write and rewrite the amount left in spool…

Well the solution I was proposing was pure software, and simple math of: 1kg (new spool) - Xg (finished print / interrupted layer fillament used).

Since it can accurately calculate just how much you need when slicing anyways.

This require set always the correct profile and color for each spool, but it could be very useful.
