Siraya Tech TPU Air?

Has anyone tried this yet?

I have a spool on the way, but it won’t arrive for another two weeks.

Laptop riser and TPU grips were the two he was testing it with.

I will use Siraya Tech’s profiles as a starting point.
I’ve seen good results with these profiles as they are, so perhaps only a minor tweak will be needed. I spent two hours fine-tuning my TPU 95A HF and TPU 90A profiles, so this time I’ll start with ready-made profiles at least.

For some reason, my order disappeared from the store’s system. I had to place it again, but the items are scheduled to arrive today. Once they arrive, I’ll run them through a drying cycle and then begin testing.

I’ve prepared profiles for 65A, 70A, and 75A. I’ll be testing on an H2D with a Darkmoon CFX build plate. I can also test on an X1 Carbon, though I haven’t created profiles for that machine yet.

Do you have any suggestions for what I should test? I’m happy to run a small, standardized model if the community has a preference—just name one and I’ll print it and share the results. I know most members here contribute in good faith, and I’ve benefited from the forum’s help; this is my way to give back with useful data and feedback.

Other filaments en route: Siraya Tech PEBA 95A and Siraya Tech PEBA Air (these will take a bit longer to arrive).

I have a roll and dried it, it’s sitting in a container @ 10% RH. I’ll get to printing something, was thinking of furniture corner pads so my kids don’t bang their heads while running around. Not sure how it would stick on, make it just small enough so it takes a little force to push on I would assume.
Let us know if you print with it.

The are out for delivery, I think I can throw them in the dryer pretty soon.

How you attach the corner pads depends on the corner, it would probably work your way by just making them tight enough.

What machine do you print with?
What temp and PA are you going to print with?

I have the A1, A1 mini, X1C and H2D. I’ve done TPU successfully with the H2D and the X1C, both printed it no problem and looks great.

The Siraya air filament has a slightly different feel to it than the other TPUs (bambu and overture) that I have printed with. Almost feels like carbon fiber TPU…

Here is the spool

Just looking at the numbers on the spool, I’d prob settle in the middle
mm/s → 60
MVS → 5 (.2mm layer height and .4mm line width)
Temp → 255 - 260, hotter might be better?
Fan → I haven’t needed to adjust fan usage; the starting templates I’ve used have been good enough. I will browse the fan settings and make sure they are set to high

Once I have that set, I would print some small test print.

And even with my sitting in dry storage, I’ll probably dry it again just to see. I’ll weight before and after to see if it removed anything. The carboard can hold a little moisture as well.

Siraya Tech provides profiles for all current Bambu printers here. I’ve used all the H2D ones for tpu air and they work perfectly.

I’ll begin with their default profiles and assess performance. It needs a few more hours in the dryer; it no longer appears to be losing weight, but to be safe I’ll extend the cycle for another five hours.

Speaking of keeping it in a dry box: I print Bambu Lab TPU 85A directly from my AMS HT via the bypass and through PTFE tubes without issues. I don’t use the stock PTFE from the AMS HT to the 4-in-1 adapter or from the adapter to the printhead; I use PTFE Tough for the tubes, and it works flawlessly. Since Siraya Tech TPU Air is comparable to TPU 95A when cold—and definitely harder than TPU 85A—I’ll print it the same way. With that setup, I can keep the spool drying while I print.

I am considering the Siraya TPU Air also, but the colorFabb VarioShore is interesting also and has a hardness range of 55A-92A where Siraya Tech has a range of 65A-82A.

I wonder what the hardness of the ST variant on the roll is, because if that is already 82A, it might be a challenge to print it.

My main concern against the foaming TPU filaments are strength, they might be soft enough, but in the meantime, much weaker and can wear out rather quick.

They for sure need to be tweaked even with the pre-made profiles ready.

My requirements would not so much be strength, but more the softness. For instance a couple of mm on a handle, or soft pads under an object.
Also the esthetics improve relative to the shiny look of standard TPU.

But definitely if strength is required, the design might need changes to accommodate that.

In what way? What are you experiencing that makes you feel that the profiles aren’t well tuned? I did not have issues with any of them

Did you measure the wall thickness?
The original profile has three walls, and I’m not seeing 1.38 mm. The parts print immediately, but they’re not particularly precise. I’m currently testing 65A, and you can literally tear the model in two with almost no force. The surface looks good, but the strength isn’t there—this may be specific to the 65A, as I haven’t tested the others yet.

Yes, this is due to it being mostly air. There is not a lot of material to stick together at 65A hardness print settings, and you can tear it trying to remove it from the build plate (I did on one print)

And I did not measure the thickness as it was not necessary for what I was printing, but I see what you mean by it needing more tuning
