Skip function in phone app

So I noticed the “skip” function in the phone app, don’t know how long its been there, but its become pretty invaluable to me when Im printing an assembly of parts and one fails.

Is this function available on the desktop app? Ive yet to find it…

It has been there for a while.

You have it on the Bambu Handy app as you lack the control you have in Bambu Studio (the desktop app) that lets you choose exactly what you wish to print by adding a plate and moving unwanted items over to that prior to printing.

You could also move items around the build plates.

So is there a skip function in the PC app ? or not…

I’m looking to cancel a part on the plate mid Print, so it can skip over that one item and keep printing, not move items around prior to printing

Not mid print.

That functionality is only provided by the Bambu Handy App.

Bambu Studio serves a different purpose.

its a great function, and would be useful on both apps regardless of purpose

It’s possible it may come to Bambu Studio.

But, I imagine the logic is; you will notice a problem when you are near the printer which may not be near your computer p, but, your device (phone/tablet) can be anywhere.

This feature is built into the X series screen, you can do it directly on the printer or use the app.

This drives me crazy, and frustrates me, to be honest.

You can’t do the skip within the desktop app, and I wish you could.

My father has a P1S, and I as I was visiting him, he had a print going with a plate full of stuff, and a few of them items jacked up. He was kind of annoyed, and said he’d just let it go and hope it doesn’t ruin the whole batch. Dad! DAD! There’s a way to skip models in the plate, don’t cha know?!

Uggh, but I had to remember how to do it again. And I remembered, you have to do it through the darned App, and ugghsdikoghasdp;gp;adfghfd;i.

Okay, rant time. People love the P1S and claim up and down the aisle about how you don’t need the extra features of the X1C, and blah blah this and that. I hate being at the P1S when there is problems. I don’t often have my phone with me, and the controls on the P1S leave a bit to be desired. It’s frustrating too because my computer is not too far, but it’s a few arm ways away still. So sometimes I’m jumping back and forth between my computer and where the printers are, when trying to do stuff on the P1S. Even if I have my phone on me, I’ve gotta fiddle with that, and restart the bambu handy app because it doesn’t seem like it always updates it’s data when I open it. I just don’t like using it. I like on the X1C how if there’s any issues, I can just touch the screen, and boom, bob’s your uncle!

And it’s usually on the other side of the house from where I actually am :stuck_out_tongue:

A phone is a security blanket to most, me included.

My rant time…

Let P series owners upgrade the display to the one the X series has. BL would gain a significant number of orders. I would guesstimate that 50% of P series owners would purchase one. We all wish to accessorise and kicking out the stock screen is a humane act.

The only reason I can see they don’t is the potential cannibalisation of the X series sales.

There is a small chance it requires the second circuit board inside the X series (the P series only has one). However, I don’t believe that is part of the equation.

Yeah I’m probably in the minority there. I’ve grown to putting the phone down and living life without it. Much to some people’s annoyance. To my own annoyance too, at times like this.

There’s a number of tidibts about that screen (On the X1C) that make it nice. Like I enjoy being able to send models to the printer, and being able to easily load them up on the screen to print. My P1S has been churning out boxes for a minute + and I wish I had this. I guess I still could start it from the P1S, but it’s easier just to send the print job from Bambu Studio vs fiddling on that little screen/controller.

Hopefully the day a P2 comes, we’ll see an upgrade to that screen/controls. It’s almost too basic.

I do like the Handy app. I’m just not a big phone user anymore.

With my eyesight even my iPhone pro max screen is too small, I use my iPad Pro.

I made the assumption it was in the desktop app too. I noticed what looked like a failure on my p1s a couple days ago, walked downstairs to the garage to find it was but had no control and had to go back upstairs to use my phone to skip!

It would be a nice upgrade path but if the oem did this they would most certainly see the X1 orders die off wouldn’t they?
I’m considering trying the X-Touch as its an upgrade for less than £10 and seems to give most of the X1 functionality (except detailed control over AMS last time I looked)
The Panda Touch also looks interesting, and for £40ish from Aliexpress its a possible winner… at least there are options even if they are not OEM supported.

Yes, as I said. The X series still has advantages beyond the screen, but, this would make the differentiation harder.

I disagree, the “machine” tab in bambu studio has the same purpose as the bambu handy app.q Regardless, Bambu studio is supposed to be the “one stop shop” program that you can use from downloading models, to slicing, to printing. It should have more things than the app IMO!

That’s the great thing about a forum, we can disagree.
