Slicer still doing color change when everything is the same color

So as the title says I’m doing a print that is normally multi color but i changed everything to use the same color filament yet it’s still doing color changes from and to the same filament, how can I fix that.

It’s showing that it’s going to use the filament in #2 and #3. Even though they may now be the same color it will still change if it was originally assigned those slots. Just go back into the prepare tab and reassign everything to the same slot - either #2 or #3, but not a combination of both - and it won’t change anymore

I did and I changed them all to the filament in 2 and it still does it

After you slice the plate does the drop-down that shows the filament usage still show that it’s going to use #2 and #3? If it does you missed something in the reassignment. If you’re doing it from the ‘objects’ list be sure to expand each item and check. If you select the entire model by image on the plate (making sure every part of it is selected and included in the highlight brackets), then right-click and use the ‘change filament’ option on the sub-menu. Another option is to remove the other spool from the AMS and then go back to prepare tab and resync the AMS and it won’t see that second same-color spool as an option any longer.

So I did have everything on just spool 2. No matter what I did it still was going weird. Restarting BambuStudio seemed to fix it though, wondering if it was some weird caching on the application side.

Actually it turns out there is a bug. In the filament section of the app all the options point to the same spool. If the model though uses option 1 and option 2 as shown, even though they are the same spool the slicer will then do a filament swap, from the same spool to the same spool.

It’s not a bug, the whole point of having different filament slots and of using different filament numbers is to tell it you want different filaments, so of course if there are multiple different numbers in use it’ll obey the changes.
I.e. set them all to the same number if you want the same filament.

Yes but it should check and if they are the same source filament NOT do unnecessary switches. It’s a simple check to perform code wise.

Again giving different numbers for different parts IS what tells it they must be different. What’s selected at the top is irrelevant (e.g you might want 2 different brands of generic PLA of the same color but still do a change).
