I have been using Bambu studio since recently, I’m a newcomer to bambulab Printer (p1p). If i export my rhino files as .STL files to bambu studio this is how it shows up in the slicer.
But it looks totally fine in rhino,
why are there jagged edges is the file corrupted? I tried exporting a .STP file as well it didn’t do much except for smoothening some bumps. I noticed if i go to “Raytraced” option as my file display the jagged edges show up once again
, can someone help me its very annoying and i have to print it as my thesis progressive model.
When a 3D model is converted to STL, it has to be turned in to a “mesh” of connected triangles. For surfaces that are flat, this isn’t a problem. But curved surfaces have to be broken down in to short, straight segments (because a triangle can’t bend). Most CAD software has a setting, maybe “curve subdivision” or similar, that defines how small to make those segments. You’re exporting with too low a subdivision level, the curves get “quantized” in to squared-off steps. I don’t know Rhino so I don’t know where to tell you to look for this, but it’s got to be somewhere or, as you’ve discovered, STL exporting would be next to useless…

Did a search for Rhino STL export. There is an “Adjust Mesh” button in the export dialog. Press it and you’ll get this dialog where you can adjust the settings that control curve subdivision (and other stuff, too). Not sure which will do it, Max Angle at a guess… The “preview” button will, I bet, come in handy for figuring it out.

Hey, Thank you for the response. I have tried using this option but since i haven’t really used rhino i think i didn’t explore this option properly. i’ll try it again and update you if it worked. Thanks once again!
