I have spent multiple months designing this print that I need to print on my X1 Carbon for a project. When I put the stl into Bambu Studio, it shows normally, but when I click slice, most of the print just disappears, and refuses to slice. This worked fine for v1 which had the same walls, and doors (none of that changed), but for some reason, it won’t slice now. I really need to print this as soon as possible, so any help would be gratefully appreciated! I have attached a photo from fusion 360, bambu labs before slice, and bambu labs after slice. I have tried turning on thin walls, and increasing the infill, but to no avail. Thanks!
The feature sizes of the model you are attempting to print are too small. Below the resolution of the printer. Switch to a 0.2mm nozzle and reslice and I bet those missing parts show up again. If so, to print this, you’re going to have to scale it up and break it in to separate pieces or get a 0.2mm nozzle.
[EDIT]
Oh. I see you are already doing 0.2mm. The answer is still the same, scale it up and break it in to pieces to get those smaller features to print…
I prefer to not fix the “manifold edges” within Bambu Labs as it messes up different parts of the print, and starts making like staircases, in the middle floor. When I do try fixing the manifold edges within Bambu Labs, it dosen’t touch the walls, but then it slices like normal, but it messes up the rest of the print. Is there are way to do it within Fusion 360?
You should be able to do that in Fusion with the stich function in the surface tab.
The issue is that the exported model contains the gaps between your walls, resulting in walls that have a thickness of 0mm. I just tried to stitch all of the open surfaces, but did not have success with it for all walls. There will be a bit of manual work from your end to stitch these gaps. And you should also try to resolve the earrings fusion is giving you, that should also get you a long way.
Which walls did it work for you? I tried stiching the whole model, then put it in Bambu Labs, but i’m still getting the same result. Are you able to send a picture of what you did, maybe i’m doing something wrong. Thanks!
This gap should be your main issue, either patch the hole manually, or add the pathway through the first wall, but you need to patch this part. Let me know if that helps.
My biggest issue with filling in the gap is that, how will I be able to go around the side entrances? If I stop before the entrance, and continue after it, there will be a space with no patch, and will come as 0mm wall thickness for that area.
Looks like there should be an entry way, but the doors seam to be closed anyway.
But something is missing in the image above. The side entrances look like they are closed. (However, that might be because of my stitch attempt.)
Try to close the bigger gap seen on the image above. and try again.
This whole thing is so weird, beacuse on my v1, the walls are also hollow (in-fact the exact same), and it worked fine, and yet it’s bugging me all the way down the line over here.
The surface you are working with should be closed, once it is, it will result in a solid body. When you scroll to the beginning of your timeline, you can see there is a surface that has been removed at some point.
Your project has way to many warnings to point to something specific. You should take some time and understand the warnings and fix them step by step.
I don’t know where the initial mesh comes from, but there might be something you could fix on that end.
