I was exploring around in Bambu Studio and discovered the smallest layer height limit that you could set for a machine.
Other than machine accuracy in Z, What would be the other problems and side effects of printing with layer heights smaller than 0.08(the default limit for A1)?
And what would be the lowest layer height possible with a 0.4 mmm nozzle?
(btw I’m using a A1, but curious to see how people would compare doing the same experiment but with an P1/X1)
I think, much smaller doesn’t make much sense because quality starts to get worse at too thin layers. You start getting weird artifacts. At least that was with my previous printer.
If you want to experiment, you can change those limits in the machine settings, the icon right besides the selection for printer and nozzle.
I have read somewhere that the sensible range of layer height for a nozzle is 1/4 to 3/4 its diameter. with the sweet spot in the middle.
So for a 0.2mm nozzle you would typically use 0,1mm layers and no less than 0,05mm.
