Anyone know what the setting is to create a smooth perfect circle? everytime I design a project with a circle, my X1C prints it with multiple “sides”.
Export as STEP, not STL. Also, read up on Arc fitting.
Solid advice unless you use something like Tinkercad which only can do objects with up to 64 sides.
(+ not even be able to export as .step anyway)
Thank you! I do use Tinkercad regularly, but it does not have an option to export as STEP.
That’s the limitation of Tinkercad. Those files/models will always look like that given the 64 side restriction. Your best option is to use a different tool that allows for more.
Ok, I checked my ARC fitting, and it is appropriately set according to the info document. I also use Tinkercad which does not give an option to export as a STEP file.
Set up an Onshape free account or try the free Fusion360 account. Massive step up in features and both have tons of YouTube content to teach you how to use them.
It will take a little while to get your head around how they work, but its worth the time IMO. Also, both work very well with STEP files but the free Fusion360 account is a little more limited than Onshape (which is my preference).
Doesn’t OnShape require all your plans to be available to the public? I do have a few very custom projects… haha
When it’s appropriately set you’ll get circles instead of polygons. Try decreasing the resolution by increasing the default 0.012 to something higher (0.025, 0.05, …) until you get good circles. You can usually see the difference in the slicer preview so you can find a balanced resolution without a lot of test prints. When you eventually do print, you will hear the difference - real circles print quietly!
Great! I will try it…RIGHT now! Thank YOU!
Well, I slowly increased the default until I got to 0.1 and the preview remained the same…
I just noticed that it is TINKERCAD causing the sided circle! so, as long as it is obvious in the cad program, Bambu program can’t fix it!
That is what @xsynatic was telling you.
Yes, this is unfortunately accurate.
I’m a ghost i guess
I think your problem is that you only said it twice.
Thanks for the sarcasm. Maybe I did not understand the language being used, or actual the “meaning” of the comment.
And here I was thinking that this was a SUPPORT forum, NOT a place where the peanut gallery can degrade others??
Sorry. I just thought it was funny that he said it twice specifically pointing to TinkerCAD as the problem and it seemed like you didn’t notice it at all. You didn’t acknowledge or ask for clarification, but just discovered on your own that the problem was TinkerCAD.
Support goes both ways.
You did not even have a part in this issue/ communication! Funny does not make it worthy of insulting or degrading someone who is seeking help! Thank God, someone else was supportive enough to provide some supportive advice… without making me feel incompetent!
