Can we please have a feature so that we can raise models like 20 mm of the printbed if it’s a intricate sphere or something that we don’t want touching the printbed.
You can add a raft.
Supports will be a better option for uneven bottom surfaces.
I print some oculus face plates and there is no proper orientation for them except in the air.
Then I switch to cura because that’s the slicer that lets me do it.
You asked about raising the models. Rafts do that. Supports don’t do that.
I tried to help with the information you gave us.
If I understand you correctly, you want to take an object and suspend it entirely above the build plate. The method to do this is to place another object such as a cube primitive and then add it to the other model as an assembly. The slicer will treat the lowest model in the geometry as the anchor point.
Right Click the model and add part. In this example, we’ll add a cube.
So we don’t waste filament, we’ll size the cube to 1x1x1mm.
Then we click on the model we want to orient and using the move and rotation tools, we can now levitate it on the build plate. The cube being the lowest point will serve as the anchor.
That’s pretty complicated compared to just flipping a switch but I’ll give it a try.
