SOLIDWORKS for Makers is now only $24/year

They also always have coupons on their Instagram page

they are, but not for the “Makers” version

Maybe not right now, but they have it a lot.

They alternate back and forth between advertising the maker version and the student version. Just keep an eye out for discount codes.

They have been pushing certification vouchers more recently.

Also try r/solidworks

The link above should cover 1 year for free.

I would add. From the link above I recommend to choose the 2nd option.

The locally installed version is much better. Especially if you already have experience with SW in the past.

The cloud version is known to have noticable performance issues. Unless a device can not run SW locally, local is always better.

It works, but I’m not a Markerspace member and can’t claim a free key.
I am a hobbyist and I create mostly for myself.
I would like to finally leave Fusion.

Even the $48/year is a fantastic price considering that we get the whole functionality of SOLIDWORKS Professional. There is a chance that there will be further discounts closer to the end of the year.

Note that this is just my opinion.

I’ve never used Solidwork. It would be nice to test the product for at least a month before buying. During the holidays there was a promotion for $24. For that amount I can test. But in my country, $48 is not so little.

There is also a monthly price if that works better for you. For 15 dollars a month you can try it out. The deal will come back eventually if you are set on waiting.

This is all in comparison. A regular Premium license for SW is almost 5000 USD per year (the professional edition is 3500). The Maker edition is a 99 percent discount. SW is a professional software just like NX, Catia, or Onshape, every software in that category is going to be insanely expensive.
