Hi, I purchased a second AMS recently and hub (of course) and they are working fine. However the newer AMS is constantly reporting high humidity and low desiccant performance despite being fresh and the lid closed for a week now. The original AMS in the same room with desiccant from the same pack is reporting low humidity and great performance. Is it possible the sensor in the second one is just faulty?
Is the filament in the new AMS also new? What if that has high water content and is contributing to the humidity? You can also get another measuring tool and place it in the AMS to compare readings if you don’t trust the sensor in the AMS
Yes, all brand new Bambu filament that’s spent maybe 30~60 seconds in open air after being unsealed and placed in the AMS. I would expect it to be taking water out of the air inside the AMS as well as the desiccant does if not more so
I have an inkbird humidity+temp sensor somewhere - I’ll remove a spool to make room for it and leave it there for a few hours to see what it says
True, though it was all still vacuum sealed with desiccant when I received them and print like the magic that usually only lasts the first couple weeks with PLA before it turns average.
Ok… so… after a couple hours the inkbird sensor is saying it’s 43% in that one AMS - going to dry the brand new filaments and then take a sauna inside the AMS while the filaments are drying.
