[SOLVED] Improved filament loading routine from spool-holder

First off: I have an AMS. I do have a Y-Splitter. I have my mains in the AMS and feed the occasional specialty trough the Y-Splitter.

.
Current process of loading spool-holder filament:

  1. Put filament in the back bowden.
  2. Go to Temperature/Axis menu.
  3. Click Arrow below extruder.
  4. Get Message (Please heat extruder to above 170°C)
  5. Confirm.
  6. Set temperature and wait.
  7. Click arrow and press filament until it grabs.
  8. Accidentally click on the unload button that pops up just below the arrow.
  9. Go Mad while waiting.
  10. Repeat from step 3.

How it could be:

  1. Go to Temperature/Axis menu and click “Load”.
(maybe also have an icon of a spoolholder that says ‘load’ in AMS-Menu)

Automatic: Printer starts heating up - maybe asks for filament type - and tells the user to press filament into the bowden until it gets registered by the sensor.

  1. Press filament until printer registered it and grabs it.

Automatic: Printer waits for temperature, does a purge. → DONE

Well… I guess I was stupid enough to RTFM then :smiling_face_with_tear:

I learned it from this wiki post:
Loading filament(without AMS) | Bambu Lab Wiki

So you just press till ‘unload’ pops up and it correctly pulls it on the next print?
That sounds good to me!

yes, because this whole load process is in the print g-code…
or you can disconnect your ams and then you have this “load button”.

Thanks for pointing that out.
I guess the manual/wiki could take some inspiration.

I’d say SOLVED.

Funktioniert wie am Schnürchen! Danke für den Tipp! (Works like a charm, thanks!)

There is now a load filament option on the P1P. Thank you!
It is a big improvement.
