I was going to rant again if you pipped me on this one as well.

I already lost out on the plates, and you failed to share the new PLA colours were available (yes, it was on YOU)

Finding out you already had the new TPU (even if it is a rubber brick) would have set me off.

The fact that it isn’t my normal 95A stuff means I have something new to explore.

Cat woke me up pre-dawn to feed her so I decided to check if the sale had started. Everything was in stock both sized plates and all 7 colors of tpu. Burned a few giftcards and made a small order of a plate and 2 rolls. Didn’t really need either but hey why not.

As far as the TPU for AMS, I’m not even 50% sold on that. I use TPU quite a lot, but never for multi-color, so I just use the external spool. I use TPU 95A and TPE 83A, but see no use (for me personally) for something with a hardness of 68D. That’s literally the shore hardness of construction hardhats.

According to people on Reddit who already have it, it’s “significally stiffer than normal TPU” and one person claimed you have to soak the finished print in water for serval hours to get it to soften up. Take that for what it’s worth, people on Reddit say lots of crazy things.

Make the paddles out of phones with AMS TPU cases. Make a AMS TPU ball shaped case to hold the phone. Everything should have a phone in it!

I just got it in black. I don’t even know what I’d do with the other colors! Ha. I guess it depends on what the surface properties are like though. Maybe it’ll end up being something I’ll want to use a lot! I’m making a model right now that has a handle portion to it. I was considering printing that portion out of TPU, but I’m also considering this new AMS TPU, depending on what it’ll be like. Like I don’t want a solid block of rubber, but I kind of would like something that feels different from the other materials I’m using for the rest of it.

let us know how it goes, i’m really not very convinced about how useful this TPU can be, so looking forward to see some real world usage to determine if it’s something interesting or not

I have around 20 mobile phones in the house *. I could organise a tournament.

A hang over to my old business. When I sold it off, I still had lots of test devices for the mobile apps we designed. I gave them away for free. The Apple ones went instantly, only two people wanted an Androids phone, I am left with old Android devices.
