As a soon to be owner of a X1-Carbon with AMS, do you have any tips for me?
I have never owned my own 3d-printer, but have worked with Creality Ender 3s and a Bambulab A1-mini in the past.
I have Google a lot, but am looking for the information you would have liked to know before setting up the workspace/printer.
The forum and Bambu wiki have a vast amount of information if you care to dig for it. There are lots of very knowledgeable and experienced people here who are willing to answer questions.
Number one tip I would give to a new printer owner would be to not touch the build surface and if you have any adhesion issues, dish soap and hot water to clean it.
Number two tip would be to get to know your printer before printing any of the “improvements” out there for it. Some can create more problems then they solve.

Don’t get wound up looking for problems to solve, print fun stuff and things that interest you. Buy colours, LOTS of colours, focus on Bambu PLA at first as this will be the best quality and ease of use material.
As @JonRaymond mentioned, the Wiki would be my first choice for accurate information. I find forums of any sort to be minefields and while people want to help it can get overwhelming when they’re tripping over themselves to be the most helpful :)). Avoid taking advice from strangers lol. Get to know your source, as even popular viewpoints can be dodgy or untested.

Hopefully yours does not come wrecked like mine did. Glass door was shattered, cracked ams and dented corner of the printer. Kinda disappointed but gives me more time to learn fusion 360.
Arrgh… Nah, thats really great to hear positive outcomes from a new printer. There’ll be the odd failures and issues pop up, but there’s plenty of info around here and the Wiki to help when it happens. Enjoy
