Spares, or lack of

I would like to say I love my X1C. But I am quite concerned on the lack of availability of spare parts. Not talking about the nozzle etc. But spare boards etc. With support apparently taking so long, which will be the failing of Bambu Lab if not sorted. Some people rely on their printers running constantly, and would rather have some spares on hand. And yet, not available.

I would hope that this be taken as an observation with the best intent. Set yourself up for success, not failure.

I’m worried about BambuLabs overall. Creality released the K1 that is $100 cheaper than the P1P and has most of the features of the X1.

I guess we shouldn’t start worrying yet… since nobody knows if it’s actually as good as Bambu Lab printers. Also, they seem to have zero K1 parts in their store – which is more worrisome.

@pmflav Bambu Lab has been adding new parts to their store monthly. I’m thinking we’ll see the other parts you mentioned in the near future.

It should be possible to use standard Marlin/Klipper board with X1 as well, although it may take some time to figure out, how to properly connect all the sensor and motors and how to tune it. If someone would release such board with guide how to perform swap, I’d buy it in no time, because it’d make my X1C much quieter thanks to trinamic stepper drivers. I’ve placed X1C in separate room, therefore fan noise is not audible, but stepper noise can be heard all over my appartment.

Totally agree. Is not that difficult to sell replacement parts that usually they must give free if you have an issue with your machine, because there´s no other way to have them. I don´t mind to pay and have the replacement parts near to my printer, maybe I´m used to my old ender 3´s  .
I started recently to hear noise from my idler pulleys, it would be great to have some replacement and change the in a preventive form.

BL is a start up, creality is established.

Have you contacted creality support? I mean hey, if they are getting back to you on 5 Mon or less, then good for you. In my experienc (limited to the Ender 5 S1), they take 3-7 weeks to get back to customers.

Also, if the K1 is actually comparable to X1C that’s awesome!!! I know most people don’t want color or filament changing and do not use the AMS, so again K1 beats BL by not offering that. I’m sure you can switch the nozzel to a hardened one on the K1, toss in CF and print, so it’s gt the X1 beat. I’m sure the ABL feature works well, so price point it’s got X1 beat.

I’m not trying to defend BL and bash creality. I’m just pointing out that if the only thing you look at is price, yes Creality wins. If all you want is bottom barrel pricing and “Just as good”, K1 is great. I think the K1 competes with the P1P but not the X1. Just my opinion though.

I may agree that compared to other brands, the typical electronic spçares (e.g. board) are not for sale. I assume it is part of their strategy for IT protection. But regarding the remaining components, and in general, the prices are reasonable and usually available or to be soon. And I notice that variety is continuously increasing.

I think that BL didn’t foresee achieving such success, so it is under-dimensioned for the grabbed market. I heard that they are currently hiring many experienced persons at a worldwide level to overcome this issue. Let’s see.

With the printer, I already ordered some essential spares based on my experience; and I am saving for buying other consumables I expect to need over time. I would do this with any printer, not by being afraid, but to avoid stopping printing.

If k1 does what was announced, it would also be game-changing regarding performance/cost. And, for sure, a competitor of BL. But before trusted reviews, I cannot comment on their performance.

I’m waiting for a week to get a spare part and nothing !!! The ETA was for September the 2nd and now. . For september the 9th ! It’s really a shame ! So I’m stuck and two clients to ! Bambu Lab doesn’t have any consideration of their customers and 2.000 € to the garbage ! Thanks to Bambu lab !!! Regards

Hey there,
I see that some of the spare parts not available are being sold through third parties. And they are charging a lot more. Hope Bambu is monitoring who is buying parts and limiting buyers that are reselling at higher prices. That would not be a good business model for Bambu if that indeed is what is occurring. There seems to be plenty of spare parts available if you go to the global market.
