I’ve previously ordered individual parts from Fysetc and never had any issues, but that was during the pandemic, and I suppose it may have gotten either better or worse since then.
That said, I think the Elegoo beats the Venture XL with its 1 hour assembly time.
shows a more “3d” print than past videos at the beginning. The rest of the video is a factory walkthrough. Pretty neat stuff. Not sure why my video links dont show a picture anymore, but its the eufy
Given that the SV06 tree looks like this:
SV06 => SV06 Plus
SV06 => SV06 Ace
SV06 Ace + SV06 Plus = SV06 Plus Ace
come on this is just mix ‘n’ match at this point…
And that me and my friend got 4 SV08’s (2 initial, 2 replacements) and ALL OF THEM had either fan issues (Error code 8, there is a reddit post about it) or wouldn’t print beyond homing, and I engaged in a 4-week long discussion with Sovol with no clear response (at least we got a refund out of it), I would say they’re like creality.
Besides, I think they’re releasing printers a bit too fast for them to be QCing every feature. I remember the SV06 strain relief issue…
That looks suspiciously like a Stealthburner toolhead. hmmm
I did give up on the SV08, that’s how me and my friend got the P1S and joined the forum. The new Pluses and Aces of the SV06 line are like the classic “slap duct tape on the leaking tub of water”…
I couldn’t find any YouTuber who encountered the same issue… probably because they’re YouTubers.
I was interested in the T500, but after the SV08 shenanigans I decided to wait until something better came out. Not a bad idea, since prices do go down, and the newest technology always has some bugs
I just now snagged an SV08 Max on the “super earlybird”, with the enclosure and the capacitive touch screen. Still plenty left. Delivery in August. Finally, I’ll have an enclosed rigid-frame 500mm^3 printer with flying gantry that I’ve been wanting for years. I think there is absolutely zero chance Bambulab will be releasing anything that size anytime soon, so it’s nothing against Bambulab. It’s simply not in the game.
So, that probably wraps it for me on this thread. Good luck everyone! May you all find the printer you’re looking for.
Maybe you do. SV08 Max is about 2x the cost of the SV08, and you said you previously had two SV08’s… And fully built it’s half the cost of my H2D, where it’s in-for-an-inch-then-in-for-a-mile on accessories and consumables.
My only regret is having bought some cheap printers on sale, some of which I haven’t even unboxed, because they’ve already been obsoleted by more recent acquisitions. I guess they’ll just sit there as emergency backups should the need ever arise. I will say though that trying different printers makes it easier to spot both quality and rubbish in other printer builds.
The sovol printers are pretty much vorons. If I bought one, I would treat it as such. Meaning, troubleshooting, fixing, upgrading would be on me. Theres a ton of info and help on the web for klipper setups. I would also plan on using an indx with it on vanilla klipper. Treat it like an advanced klipper kit printer, and youll be ok. Did I hear that it comes with a beacon style bed scanner?
I would still say spring for a ratrig. I guarantee rat os will make an indx upgrade as easy as a few clicks during setup. Google Rat OS, and youll see what I mean. There will aslo be normal klipper profiles for the sovols but the ratrigs have a better frame and after sales support imo
I bet they sell a ton of those svo8 max auxiliary feeders.
Well this sent me down a rabbit hole… “SirWill” used to be a Bambu employee here when the forum first started. I pulled up his profile and now it says his level is “New User” so maybe an ex-Bambu employee?
I mean it could just be someone with the same screen name over there, who knows.
AFAIK, it’s bigger than any of the flying gantry voron kits, and yet it’s lower in cost and much faster to assemble than a voron kit. I think the droid lady’s review was the most informative yet:
In it she refers to it as the final version, not a beta.
Hmm, final, yup, very much so. Sovol isn’t going to invest any more money into improving such a unicorn, it’s a one and done, so any warts it has now are going to be the ones it ships with. If I was them, looking at the kickstarter performance today I’d pull the plug on it now, but maybe their costs are really low. The nice thing is they can host the “Global SV08 MAX users convention” in multipurpose room 2B of any Ramada Inn and not have to splash out for the whole hall. All 300 of you should fit comfortably in 2B, Ramada will use that accordion divider and rent out 2A to a craft fair.
Well that’s enough to get me interested! Where’s that guy that always pops in and asks for new news? @user_775130548 are you seeing this? We have new news!
