I hear it’s an easy add on for the H2 series printers. I assume they’ll sell it as an H2C, wonder if there will be a difference in grabbing an H2S and adding it on later
That’s what I was waiting for.
would have been awesome if they released it before the h2d, but then nobody would have bought an h2d. Nickle n dime
No doubt. Fortunately they made it an upgradeable part. Am a little salty they called H2D flagship then dropping the H2C the same year no long after and calling it the new flagship. I’m however going to wait on this product to see how effective it really is at its function and what the drawl backs are.
Yep. On the other hand, it’s not like Bambu really cares about what its customers base are expecting/wanting, or that Bambu gives a damn about disappointing/pissing off its customers… once it gets their money it’s business as usual. Take it or leave it.
I like the companies that first release the good versions, and then the budget versions later for others. Just feels better not having buyers remorse every generation lol. I now have 7 grand in printer that i never would have bought if they released a toolchanger
Boo hoo for me, i guess lol. Not cancelling my u1 order
Cool! I had completely missed that reveal, so thanks for pointing it out:
I wonder whether it will be as fast (or faster?) as the U1?
This is what the H2D should have been in the first place! Thank God there will at least be some kind of upgrade path… Otherwise, I’d be very sad having purchased expensive hardware that was obsolete in less than 9 months.
The bits look sexy lol
what a rollercoaster
It sounds a bit like that other system we’ve been discussing, with the inductive heating, wireless communication, etc.
According to the video, the build plate will be the same size as the H2D.
I wouldn’t bank on the launch date though, based on all we heard about the H2D’s launch date in the past.
I think the software issues might have stopped them from releasing it as a flagship earlier this year.
Anyways, it seems to be exactly what I was hoping next generation would be. We are only few months away from the launch. Lots of fun coming our way.
It seems to load those nozzles almost like some kind of machine gun! The Gatling Gun of 3D printers.
Still, there is the price factor, but being released at about the same time, U1 may not have the impact as initially expected.
I´ve to say that the H2C seems like a great concept …
If I had to make an educated guess… It will be a very expensive upgrade, not to say, time consuming given that H2D is pretty much built on adhesives and double-sided tape…
What is interesting, at least to me, is how all those nozzles are going to work.
H2D already has an elevated number of clogging\blobbing due to that modified A-style nozzles. How are those even less secure nozzles going to work? Only time would tell.
I think the way they announced it and release timing seems to have a lot to do with the amount of backers U1 has. I’m not cancelling my pledge for U1 just yet. I hope there will be more teasers of H2C in the near future that will explain in more detail the concept and expand on advantages over other systems (if there are any)
It’s still a two nozzle per printhead design, which frankly puzzles me. Why? The left nozzle stays fixed, and 6 nozzles can get swapped in and out of the right nozzle via the changer. Maybe the upgrade won’t be too torturous, assuming you have steady hands like a surgeon or can build ships in a bottle with ease.
What I see as the main factor is the price.
It’s an unknown variable, and if we base it on the current H2 model’s value, the difference to the U1 may be large.
IMO The price for the addon needs to be like buying an AMS3 lol. Like $350-$400 target
I’m thinking they will try to be competitive and „hotends” won’t be more expensive than what INDX from Bondtech will cost. As for the cost of the upgrade I think this will be around $400-500 with three „hotends” included and the rest being an optional upgrade. I don’t think many people will jump on an upgrade path if it will cost as much as new snapmaker U1. I would much prefer to have two machines than one if difference was only few hundred dollars.
No mention of this one coming with laser beams or pen plotters. On the other hand, if it is upgrade-able…?
