Noticing after the release of the X2D that all of the series (P/X/H) have been updated, except one, the A series. Could this mean a A2 or A2Mini (possibly a dual nozzle?)

I don’t think we are ever going to get a dual nozzle A series printer. It just doesn’t make sense at that price point.
The A1 and A1 mini were released in late 2023, while the P1 and X1 series both came out in mid/late 2022. Given that, there is at least a year until we get an update to the A series.
The A1 is relatively modern in the lineup. I personally do not think there is any rush for a replacement. And considering its popularity in its current state, sales show that there is little reason for it to be updated. When the A1 was released it was already kinda second gen.

There probably won’t be a dual head A series printer for the simple enough reason, that currently it’s the only differentiator between P and X series. All the profit margin is in the higher end offerings, they won’t shoot themselves in the foot like that

The A really just needs new firmware to get a fresh coat of paint. One touch cold pull, and all the colors on one page would be very nice lol
If they make an A2 they should take serious note of the Kobra X’s cutter arrangement. Integrating the cutter much lower is a real smart way to reduce waste and increase speed. Not even close to dual nozzle / toolchanger performance, but it is an easy 30-50% improvement of the time spent off to the side poopin’. Just by shuffling the parts around a lil.

X2D is out. Hardware design for the rest of the X2 printers probably were lockd down a couple of months ago and now waiting for software to finish. The hardware team should be on A2 now.

Do people think a X2S or X2C (with Vortec) is likely or would they keep exclusive to H series? Just did not know if they could make it cheaper with size. Could laser for X series likely or reserve that for H as well?
Here’s my 2 cents…
The lineup does not make sense right now.
A series - 2 printers but they are very different from eachother
P series - Good, but the P1S has met its time and needs to go
X series - should have just been a flagship, I dont think we need it to be broken up into 3 machines like the H series like people are discussing.
H series - 3 is too much. I would keep it at H2S and H2C.
2 printers per series makes sense, no need to complicate everything. And I am putting the P and X series together, same chassis, same series.
I’d be very happy if all they did was give me a camera for my Mini that produces pics and video worth looking at. I’m honestly very happy with all the rest of it. Great printer.

What‽ The P1S is great for people who don’t need the QoL improvements of the P2S or people who run print farms!

Its a piece of technology that is slowly getting outdated by the rest of the lineup. It literally already has a replacement.

I would keep the H2D though, people may want no purge multicolor but in a larger size

I just bought one, knowing there might be a refresh soonish. But if X1 and P1 are an example, it could yet be in a year.
As for updates: Besides except a better camera, same nozzles as P2/X2 and not layer shift from gunk falling into the rails.. Maybe AMS pro support?
The current cycle that we are seeing may not be representative of what a normal cycle is.
The H series was planned for 2024. However, their development of the Vortek ran into a one-year delay, which pushes everything else in the pipeline back by the same amount of time.
- Mid-2022: X1-Carbon and X1 (Flagship, high-end) released.
- Late-2022: X1E (Enterprise-focused) announced, featuring higher chamber temperatures and Ethernet.
- Nov 2022: P1P (Core-core, budget-friendly high-speed) released.
- June 2023: P1S (Enclosed version of P1P) released.
- Dec 2023: A1 Mini (Compact, budget-friendly) released.
- Dec 2023/Jan 2024: A1 (Full-size budget printer) released.
- Q1 2025: High-end “next generation” printer series (previously 2024) delayed to early 2025.
Without that delay, P2S and X2 probably would have come in 2025. A2 probably would have come out now this spring.

There are so many QoLs that aren’t necessary for something like a print farm.
Like what?
A better camera for remote monitoring?
Nozzles that are easier to service?
Better build plate alignment guides?
Better network connectivity?
First, the P1S is reliable enough that I don’t think you need a camera for remote monitoring. Also, it’s older so we know more about it and there are more 3rd-party print farm improvements. Second, you don’t need to constantly change out nozzles when you’re repeatedly printing the same things over and over again. I don’t see anything wrong with the build plate alignment guides (in fact I find the P2 ones slightly worse), and WDYM better network connectivity?
