Split function to also split negative added parts

Hello,
im having a hard time trying to split my print objects into smaller parts with bambu studio.

I mainly use differnt core materials and therefore i would preferably place these as negative parts into my print before splitting, however after splitting those negatives just attach to one of the objects instead of splitting with them.

Is there a way to also split negatively added parts that im just missing or is there another way to go about it?

Welcome to the forum.

You need to “Mesh boolean” so the negative part is actually subtracted from the original part.

Then you can cut the part however you want and the negative will remain.

Thank you so much, i feel quite stupid now…

Don’t feel stupid. It’s not apparent. I only know because I’ve run into a similar issue.

Ok i have tried to edit the models today, however i now come across this error when i try to apply the mesh boolean:

meshbooleanerror

I’ve also been trying to insert a negative cylinder (for a support rod) and while I am able to perform the Mesh Boolean function, the negative object vanishes when completed.

Try setting up your negative parts in place then right click and ‘Export as one STL’ it will ask you if you want to apply the negative parts to the exported file. Then you have a clean file to work with. I could never get the mesh boolean thing to work right either.
