My extruder is making squeaky noises. I watched the Printer. It is definitly Not an axis as it can also (or especially) be heard when filament is purged. Sounds like a mouse or a very high pitched metallic squeak. It started a few weeks ago. Yesterday the extruder clogged. Took it apart completely, reassembled, but no luck. Squeaks like always.
With every filament with every manufacterer.
Bambu, sunlu, jayo, eryone, geeetech, esun, flashforge, you Name it.
I only Print pla and petg, okay, one time tpu and Petg CF.
In the Wiki Guide I saw the Person using a Brush to clean the extruder, Thats the only thing i did not do.
Sounds more Like a Bad bearring?
The inner me is thinking about replacing the extruder as the third filament change After cleaning resulted in a „filament is Stuck“ error…
Anybody Else had this issue? Is there a Guide on lubricating?
Fixed it.
There was dirt/dust in the extruder gears. To be more exact it was in the gear with the „grey arm“. I Dunked it in IPA and stirred it around a few times. After That the gears turned freely. Without Sound.
Unfortunately the answer to Both of your questions is „no“. I Never had a Clogged nozzle.
I do run Cardboard spools in the ams, but with printed rings around them. (Also the Printer Sits in an enclosure with the ams next to it, just connected via a hole/Ptfe tube)
But you got me thinking. What could have been the Culprit was tpu. I tried it one time via external Feed and had an unload issue afterwards. Also there was residue in the Color of the tpu on the extruder gears.
Yes, that is a good observation of the TPU strings possibly wrapping around the gears.
I once had a small problem unloading TPU through the external feed also.
Just thought I’d chime in here, had an extruder squeak that started after 800 hours of printing. No maintenance done up to that point. Followed the instructions on Bambu’s website for cleaning and lubricating maintenance on the extruder gearing and back up and running squeak-free!
