So ive got my A1 mini on one of these little Ikea tables - and whilst the prints are coming out ok and it’s relatively stable, it still wobbles a little. My question is, is it worth me trying to source a slab of stone or something to put on top to weigh it down a bit, or should I just put the printer on the floor? I cant imagine even a piece of stone helping that much, as the amount of force I need to put with my arms on the table to stop the wobble is quite considerable :-/
The printer moves. It will always move. The vibrations will not matter for print quality because that is what Pressure advance and resonance compensation is for.
Te vibrations only matter for you. Does the printer make noise on the table? Does that bother you?
Don’t matter for the printer what it is standing on. It is not an Ender 3.
The printer doesn’t make any extra noise due to the wobble from what I can tell. It’s mainly just me being worried about the wobble having some kind of effect (but I guess I dont need to worry too much).
Similarly, that whole vibration test thing it does before each print, im aware thats needed to undertake certain tests, but it doesn’t sound too great and makes me feel like it actually harms the printer
As noted above, if it’s working well, it’s not a really problem.
If you still want to reduce the wobble and try out your new printer with a functional print, look for something like [this](https://www.printables.com/model/233165-ikea-lack-reinforcement/. When installing them, try to keep the legs square and true so that all four feet are on the floor.
+1; I’ve put my printer on a cheap folding plastic table; stuff on it visibly wobbles as the A1 prints but I’ve gotten solid prints so far; course YMMV
