Standalone A2L tent enclosure?

It looks like A2L is still too new, I can’t find any tent enclosure for it (without AMS Lite). Unless you guys have found some?

It’s probably because most reputable companies don’t offer this. The A Series isn’t designed for this, as it requires a constant supply of fresh air. Otherwise, the circuit board could overheat.

Some companies have figured out how to do this without harming the printer, but it comes at a price, making it more of a niche product with correspondingly low demand.

Most scammers simply sell a plant-growing tent and claim it is a 3D printer tent. Worse still, most of these fake tents aren’t fire-resistant and can actually accelerate a fire.

That’s why people prefer to build their own enclosure, just to be on the safe side.

As long as the enclosure has a fan, which is enough to keep interior from overheating. My A1 mini has been running with one for two years now without issue. A2L generates more heat, probably need to mod the fan if I can find one.

I could print one from P series printers, but time is money. Hopefully, they are already making it.

You can do whatever you want - I’m not saying you can’t - but I’m speaking from the retailers’ perspective: After all, they’re the ones responsible if something goes wrong - printer overheating, fire, etc., and Bambu explicitly says, “Don’t do that.”

That just makes it hard to promote. Accordingly, the demand is very low.

Why not build your own solution? There are plenty of solutions to be found on the forum and in 3D printing communities in general. I’m not saying you have to do that - I’m just suggesting it as an option. :+1:

Goals for this sorta thing are important

If your goal is to keep cats out, the kind made of canvas with aluminum tentpoles for grow tents work fine, leave an open mesh panels on for airflow.

If your goal is to increase ambient chamber temp to do technical filaments I’d just kinda recommend against it for a large number of longevity, reliability, and safety issues and will leave it at that.

If your goal is to capture the stank from a volatile print, the canvas type often comes with 4" duct holes, add a 4" inline duct fan and leave the tent 90% closed, and you create a very good negative pressure extraction system and wont bake your printer. But back here in reality, bed slingers dont like doing ABS/ASA which are the prime stankifiers, so idk
