I’ve been using my P1S for well over a year now and am really pleased with it, never having issues the were not my own fault, but I do tend to stick with generic settings rather than try any tweaks…
When I bought the machine, I added a selection of 3D Effect plates, but only used one for the first time today, and the only thing I changed was the plate type, when doing the print.
As I’d already tested the print on the PEI plate, I was good to go, but when I printed it lines appeared around the outside edges and the ‘window’ in the project, and I puzzled why this happened. Are the any other changes I need to make?
I don’t see an issue here, if you look closely, both prints have the lines around the outside edges. The reason for the right print having more prominent lines is due to the texture on the plate itself, the textured PEI plate does a better job at hiding those lines because of the texture, whereas the other plate has a more uniform texture that accentuates the outside lines.
This will improve the looks if the 3 walls are not structurally important.
Honestly, I don’t use these types of plates, so I have no experience with them, however, what settings are you using for this plate? I believe these need to be set as high temp plates. Perhaps changing the “bottom surface pattern” to “Hilbert Curve” may help.
Not neccessarily. But note that the heat bed temps recommended on the store page of the Effect Sheets may be slightly higher than the defaults for the set Smooth PEI.
