Is it possible to start the filament drying process via the app or the studio? If not, it would be cool if Bambu Lab could implement this in the new version.
I would just like to be able to start the drying process from work.
Since you have to manually remove the filament for each spool before you can start drying, this will not work even if the software would allow it.
After that you can start it from the app or studio? Because i cant see any option for this.
I read about the new Beta Firmware for the H2D printer, that it will have an option for drying without rotating the spool. Hopefully this means that you don’t need to remove the filament for each spool before drying.
Perhaps this will lead to a future possibility to start dring from app or studio.
i already have this beta firmware and yes you have a extra option for spinning the spool but for now you cant control it from the app or studio ^^ maybe in the next beta firmware 
Okay, drying without a rotating spool is implemented in the current firmware.
What about drying via Bambu Studio or the app?
Will that be available in a future version?
I don’t see any reason why you can only start drying on the printer. Even if the filament is in the AMS, you can start drying on the printer.
I really wish this could be implemented in the app…
Would be great to see this as a feature in the app, often I want to dry filament while I’m at work, I’m able to unload via the app but not start drying which means I’m can only start printing the next day unless I start it before I leave for the day.
It would also be really cool and convenient if you could potentially schedule this function. Say let the AMS start drying the filament each day at 11:00PM (overnight). Having prompts that when this schedule was to kick off if an active print was in process you could skip that days schedule. This would only work no rotating options but something to hope for and think about from Bambu.
Hi all—just to confirm, is it only possible to start the drying process from the printer itself? I assumed I’d be able to activate drying directly from Bambu Studio, but I can’t find the option anywhere. It seemed like such an obvious feature, so I thought I was missing something… but maybe not!
Still wish we could do this from the apps… Sigh… And schedule it…
If i can’t start driyng remotely. Idk what is the point of bying AMS 2 honestly. I’ve just tried it. Also if i open the lid to start drying and then if i have to open the lid to start printing again then my 42% wet german air will get inside at once. Honestly i could make a self-made improvement to AMS1 that would work much better.
Pls @BambuLab can we have remote controle of the filament drying function??? 
The AMS2 is sealed to maintain humidity and has reinforced/ceramic feeders which are big advantages.
Really stupid you can’t schedule drying from the app though nd that filament needs to be unloaded.
I could somewhat understand not to start drying whilst remote. But please at least let me stop it.
Let’s say you dry with over 50c, you cannot load the filament until it is cooled down. Unless you want to open the chamber throughout the cooling process, this will take a while.
Would be great to be able to stop drying remotely so it got time to cool down, so by the time I am at home it is sub 50c and happy to have filament loaded so I can get started straight away.
Like with many options, unless there is a good technical explanation as to why it is a bad idea, please give the option to the user.
@BambuLab Would it be possible to add the option to control the dryer directly from Bambu Studio or Handy? At the moment this feature is only accessible from the printer panel, which is quite limiting. Having remote control would be a great improvement.
@BambuLab pleaae add this feature at least to Bambu Studio. I have my Printer connected to a smart plug and when I am not actively printing or a print is finished, I often remotely shut of the printer. It happen 2 or 3 times now that my AMS HT was drying, but i forgot andshut off my printer. And it does not continue to dry after that. Since I cannot start drying from remotr, my AMS HT is not doing anything while I am away.
This also could be an issue with power outages or brown-outs. At least a power cycle recovery would be necesary…
Please fix this, I think the start drying function would be a simple addition to Bambu Studio.
@BambuLab please hear our cries! We’re all smart enough to operate filament drying remotely. Hell, hard code a restriction on rotating spools during drying if they’re still loaded.
Starting filament drying from the P1S screen doesn’t even seem to have the option to toggle on/off rotate spool when drying - it’s such a bad interface…. Please …. God …. Let me operate it remotely!!!

It may happen, next firmware, who knows. I can assure you BL doesn’t know. Your pleas will make no difference. Pray to the gods, to God, to your printer directly. Each will have the same affect. Because they do not frequent the forum, fori, forums. Whatever.
What you can do is put in a ticket, suggest it (there’s a way, always a way). You will get a reply that’s generic and made to pacify you. Don’t let it.
Be a pest, put one in every day. Before you know it you’ll realize how much time you’ve wasted and sigh…then move on.
