@MakerWorld When are you going to add some sort of detection for people using stolen images? I made a profile for someone’s model, and the guy now uses my image on his profile.
For now you can at least report it as “Uses other’s actual print image”.
Been seeing a lot of that, and crude photoshops to vaguely hide using someone else’s image.
Yep, I did that. This was blatantly obvious.
You used his model, but he can’t use your picture?
What is the problem here? Why are you not happy to share?
Have you even spoken to the person?
I’d be honored if a print of mine or print profile would be featured as the cover pic under the original design entry.
It’s just not the smart way to do it completely without asking and without appropriate credit in the description or picture itself.
MW should have a watermark feature on their photo uploader. It’d cut down some bother and probably help them utilise an AI scan on any other pic uploaded.
If asked, I would of said I had no issue. Not asking is stealing. Makerworld took action, and I appreciate it.
Perhaps they didn’t see it as stealing, and would be mortified to think that they were being accused of that.
Did you contact them and say something like…
Hey, thank you for the original model. I love that you think my profile image is good enough to use. It would be cool if you could give me a mention, and maybe add a link to my MakerWorld profile. Thanks again
