I must be missing something here because I’ve read several posts where folks are asking how to prevent parts from automatically snapping to the print bed. I’m experiencing the opposite problem. When I import an stl file into Bambu Studio and break it into parts I of course move the parts in X and Y to separate them but have to manually move the parts in the Z direction to get them to lie flat on the print bed. This is a tedious process. There seems to be no “auto-snap” feature. Am I missing something?
I’m on a Macbook pro and importing stl files created in Fusion 360.
The third button on the top of the Prepare window is “Auto Orient” which will put your flat edges on the plate if you have them.
thanks for the quick reply! I have tried that (and just tried again) and “Auto Orient” does not change anything. I have selected all the objects. Maybe a bug in the Mac software version?
Hm. That’s odd. I’m using a mac too. I’ll often select everything, choose “Arrange All Objects” then do “Auto Orient” and it works 9 times out of 10. Have you tried this on multiple models?
I just discovered something. Even though I definitely had split the stl into objects before (because I was able to move individual objects around and I had the objects listed on the left panel) I guess Bambu Studio didn’t fully recognize this. I was able to choose “Split to Objects” again from the toolbar and after this “Arrange All Objects” and “Auto Orient” worked as expected! Wow, this will save me a lot of time!
Thanks again for your speedy help on this and for inspiring me to reexamine stuff.

My pleasure! I’m glad you worked it out!
You have to select the object first
Thanks for your suggestion julie. I had been selecting the object(s). The solution seems to be what I described above. For whatever reason, if you see that “split into Objects” is still enabled on the toolbar (even if you already have split your file into objects), you have to click that again for the Arrange and Orient buttons to work.
