Stock nozzle cleaner not reaching full nozzle body

Been having an ongoing issue with the H2S nozzle cleaner. The stock wiper only contacts the very tip of the nozzle — it doesn’t reach far enough up to clean residue that builds up on the nozzle body. Printing PETG HF at 240°C, which is quite sticky, so buildup accumulates fast. Filament is fully dried, so moisture isn’t the issue.

Result: blobs falling onto prints mid-job, Z-stringing, and general quality issues.

Tried the following with no improvement:

Is anyone else running into this? Any aftermarket wiper replacements or other fixes that actually work for the H2S?

Im sure more help will be provided, but I do have the same issue with the nozzle and sock getting strung up like that on an H2D when using PETG-HF even thoroughly dried it happens more on color changes/nozzle changes. Only time I really have to pull the socks off to clean is after lots of those prints.

Yeah, same here. I pull the sock off and clean with a brass brush roughly every 30 hours or so. I apply PTFE coating afterwards, but residue still builds up and occasionally drops onto prints.

The bigger problem is that for long prints where I can’t manually intervene, the failure rate goes up significantly.

And honestly, having to clean manually every time is quite tedious :expressionless_face:

Update: I ended up designing a small shim to fix this myself. It sits under the silicone pad and raises it high enough to actually contact the nozzle body, not just the tip.

Called it the WipeMax Ultra Pro 3000 (yes, the name is a joke). Default height is 1.35mm, adjustable up to 1.75mm via slicer settings. Higher = deeper clean, but slightly faster wear on the silicone pad — so adjust based on your nozzle and cleaner setup.

Been working well for me with PETG HF so far. Sharing here in case anyone else wants to try it out :grinning_face:
