How do you report someone on Etsy? Got a guy selling my files: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1673938820/
But I can’t seem to find anything to report it on the listing.
Edit: I found it…should have looked further before posting here

Hey, thanks for you reply (and all other who have replied). I was just wondering. I agree and understand I can’t do much about it unless it’s an identical copy or my files are being used. But some things are so similar that it feels a bit odd some details are so similar haha).
About the reward, ofcourse I’ve thought about putting it on etsy or similar platforms (and I could still do so…). I didn’t do so for now as it takes more time and effort then I have available at the moment. On the other hand. The makerworld rewards (points) probably make me more as what I would have earned trough etsy so far. So nothing to worry about
That includes images, logos, etc.? Just asking.
I really need to learn how to use fusion, I started with a crappy printer, then to a less crappy ender 3 pro, to sovol sv06+ and then the a1 bundle all within a few months. I can tinker around a bit on some of them, like a koozie, I’ve added my company I work for logo to it. I don’t sell it, I have given a few out, but could I upload that as my own? I am not being sarcastic here, I want to know.
You can but that’s qualified. Company logos may be copyrighted or trademarked. Small companies may not care. Big ones too. But if someone doesn’t like it they may tell you to pull it. As long as you aren’t putting it in a bad light, making fun of it, or selling it, they may not care.
I would be sure to pick appropriate license conditions when you post it, though. No modifications/remixes and no commercial uses. People still may but at least your own posterior is covered at least a little. Or just not post it.
But worst case is they don’t like it and tell you to pull it. But it is a copyright/trademark violation.
Today I spotted a couple of my models being sold on Etsy.
I have informed Etsy, I will wait and see what if anything they do.
I have only had a Quick Look through the U.K. version, I need to do a more thorough search and then go through the international versions.
I filled in the form on their site and it failed to transfer the report at the end, apologised and told me to email the whole thing, I had to fill everything in a manual email.
I could find any way to email the sellers to tell them to sign up for a commercial license.
It is about time sites like Etsy require their sellers to prove the goods they are selling are legitimate and can prove they designed it or the rights to sell it. These sites are designed to sell the sort of products that are often stolen, it is essentially built in to the marketplace proposition.
Expecting designers to know these thieves have stolen our work individually across all possible thief enablers.
It’s been a while since I looked on Etsy to see if anyone was selling my designs, and holy smokes, 3 of them right on the first search results. I’ve asked if they can remove them, but i’m not holding my breath lol.
I found one of mine there and reported it. It was taken down in a couple of days.
How do you search on Etsy? You can’t assume that someone will use the same description or that the keywords you enter will lead to a successful search.
I used general terms for my most successful model and found it and one I only just published a week ago.
Two different thieves.
Neither used my names for “their product”.
It isn’t easy and time consuming.
I expect there are more to find.
Has anyone made a successful claim against Etsy?
I have reported two models and just received information from the first one.
Essentially they told me it has nothing to do with them and to try and reason with the thief.
hmmm. I may buy one to leave a ■■■■ review.
I have. Recently. The model was taken down.
They warned that it was not up to them and that they were not a legal entity to pass judgement. If the seller countered, I would be notified. But until then it would be removed. I never heard anything after that.
Of course, I did reach out to the seller first and ask about it. When they never replied, I filed the compaint.
Wow what a copout and a really lame policy for etsy. I’m quite sure they’d move mountains if it was a lawyers letter. I’m sick to death of lame websites (looking at you also @MakerWorld) who don’t have the moral fortitude to draw the line in the sand against theft.
Etsy must act exactly as they do in order to retain their safe harbor status. They must stick to the precise process they describe or they risk losing their status. This is why they refuse to arbitrate, amongst other things. They are not allowed to.
It’s not simply Etsy being negligent, they must retain their legal status quo.
(At least in the U.S. I have no idea outside of that)
I stand corrected (us only). Still lame.
