Strange edge in the radius

Hello everyone. I actually just want to make simple pots for my plants, so that the pots look a bit nicer they have a radius at the bottom, which has a 40 degree chamfer towards the bottom so that the overhang is not too huge. But whenever I print them, they get a strange edge in the middle of the radius (about exactly at the height of the inner bottom of the pot) which rises outwards.

Logically, you can’t see this in the slicer because it’s a radius.

But does anyone have any idea why this is the case and whether there is anything that can be done about it?
Best regards

The reason for this edge is the shrinking of the “heavy” bottom, which contains much more filament. This filament is shrinking more than the walls of the pot.

Ah wow, thanks for the quick reply! But no suitable solution has been found yet?
Do you think it would help to use as little infill, floor and ceiling layers as possible?

The best would be to change the design, but you also play with cooling. In the thread are some options mentioned.

Try some of these suggestions

I’m struggling with this issue too @SimEyeSee. Before I go into f360 and mess with my model, could you clarify something for me please?

When you say “3. Concave in the base” do you mean concave the top surface of the base? Am I right in thinking that you just make the top surface of the base not flat across its whole plane?

Cheers

Gave it a shot and can confirm that simply making the top surface of the base curved/concaved solves the problem.

Thanks for figuring it out!

Perhaps this will help someone else here
