I’m having a strange issue with my A1 Mini. After every print, the printer moves the Z‑axis upward — which is normally fine. But for quite some time now, it has been making a noticeably loud noise while doing so.
What’s odd is that it usually only happens when the print head is all the way to the left in its parking position. For the past few days, it has also happened occasionally during bed leveling when the print head is far to the left.
I’ve already cleaned and lubricated all axes, but unfortunately without success. I’ve attached a short video showing the issue.
Look if you see some metallic powder or dust type of thing and if it worsens print quality at all. Based on the sound its probably connected to the motors in the printer. Search in the wiki for help and how to inspect them. Hope this helps
Just to be sure, did you test this when your desk was empty? A slight buzzing sound is normal, but the volume isn’t. Something on your desk, or even the entire desk itself, could be acting as an amplifier.
I’m only asking because there have been several posts from people who spent days searching for the error, and then it turned out to be, for example, the poop bin that was standing next to it and acting as an amplifier speaker.
As I said, I’m just asking. I’m not standing in front of the printer and can hear where it’s coming from.
Yes I’ve checked it dosends of times. There is nothing rattleing around on the table. I don’t know if its maybe the position of the AMS Lite. I’ve put it on the left side of the printer. Does anyone have experience with that?
So, I’ve done a little testing lately. The noise seems to come from the bearing at the bottom of the Z-spindle. It’s sometimes louder, sometimes it’s normal. Is there any maintenance I have to do for the Z-spindle, its bearing, and the linear rail, besides the usual application of grease to the spindle itself?
