I was lubing all my rods and screws on my X1C today in prep to possibly sell it, when I encountered a very strange noise when I manually move the bed up and down. I can’t seem to pinpoint it.
When I do a homing, I don’t hear it, but when I use the touchpad to move it, I hear it. I wanted to attach a video, but can’t seem to. It is hard to describe, but it reminds me of a crackling sound.
Any ideas?
Typical sound for x1c. Most likely z belt needs slight adjustment.
Look under the printer, do you see bits of black debris? Indication of belt rubbing. Theyre very durable tho, i’d recon you can print a good 10k hours before needing to swap.
I had a noise during Z movement on my P1S right after performing maintenance. I put a drop of oil between the idler pulley for the Z belt next the tensioner and the plastic housing.
Lubing the idler pulley worked.
