Never experienced this before. Uneven outer wall layers which seem to line up with changes in the side wall features(MILK)
P1S printer with 0.6 nozzle and preset layer and filament settings. Bambu pla basic silver filament. I’ve printed this exact file several times in other filaments. This is the first time I’ve gotten these nasty outer wall shifts. They are significant and very noticable both to see and touch. Any advice is appreciated.
It’s hard to do a good analysis without understanding the model itself. A picture only states that you were unhappy with the output. However, it’s important for us to see the input and understand what your slicer was seeing before it was sent to the printer. A screengrab of the prepare and preview screens would be a big help, or better yet, upload the 3MF here so we can inspect the model directly.
If I were to wager what went wrong initially, it looks like an improperly calibrated flow ratio or possibly an incorrect temperature. Both of these can also be influenced by filament moisture, which could explain why you are getting different results from different filaments.
Did you dry and calibrate your filament manually? When you dried it, did you weigh it before and after to confirm any presence of moisture and, more importantly, the removal of moisture? Don’t fall into the trap of believing that factory-sealed filaments are dry when they go into the bag. Only weighing the filament before and after drying can determine the moisture content, and all filament has at least some moisture. If you find that the filament has less than a 1% weight loss after drying, you can be more confident that you have ruled out wet filament. However, if the filament had a moisture content exceeding 1%, you will at least have “drier” filament than you started with. How do you know it’s dry? When it stops losing weight. Weigh it periodically during the drying process; eventually, it will level off in weight, and that’s when you know you have likely removed as much moisture as possible.
I have a similar problem. Only mine have stripes in depth and like a template. I don’t understand why this could be. The printer is practically new. The belts are tight.
