Strange things right out of the box

No, it shouldn’t be. Fire in one of the other spools and enjoy watching a good Benchy print. To be honest I’ve never even opened the Support PLA spools that have been included with my printers. I should try using it at some point I guess.

What is the support one for exactly?

It can be used as an interface layer between a support structure and your part so that the support breaks away cleanly and leaves a better surface finish on your part. That is the theory. I haven’t used it. Someone else might be able to better speak to how well it works.

The little heat from just printing a benchy shouldn’t cause this much chaos. Several hour long prints maybe but not a single benchy. I never print with the door or Lid open, even with 270c/70c when printing PETG and have yet to encounter any chamber temp related issues. (and yes of course there other factors at play like ambient temps etc.

welp there we have it

Literally did this myself yesterday.

The way I saw it was if this is the largest issue I have with this being my first printer, things are not going too badly!

I once saw some YouTuber promptely opened all the included filaments and put them all inside the AMS without even knowiing what they are for.

If I were Bambu Lab, I would skip the support filament and the other one (PA?), and include only PLA (make 4 quarter rolls of 4 different colors). New users will not know what a support filament is. PA is for down the road. Including PLA only will ensure new users have a good start and first impression.

I had the Support and two PLA rolls in there so someone listened sort of

I just got my printer as well, and honestly you have it good. Every time I try to start a print it retracts my filament from the extruder all the way back to the AMS and then poorly attempts to gaslight me into thinking the filament has run out. Meanwhile the only filament I’ve had only my print bed so far was the garbage it flung around trying to clean the nozzle.

Having very similar issues to this with ASA-CF

Welcome to the forum!

If your trying to print a presliced file from Bambu Lab, like the benchy. You have to use their PLA filament and it has to be in slot one only. Not the external or any of the other three slots.

Connectors do come loose in shipment. There are many error codes it spits out depending on what it sees or doesn’t see.
