Stringing after moving house

Hi I moved house a few days ago, I moved froma hard-flat carpet to a softer, non-level carpet. I ran a full calibration test.

I had a lot of stringing and zits on the print, so I figured it was the filament, I dried the bambu pla basic filament then tried a nozzle change, and have still had no luck.

( I’m printing from stock settings from the SD card instead of the app, as I don’t have wifi yet)
Could the un-even surface + move have caused this ?

Bad Print Quality: Causes and Solutions | Bambu Lab Wiki

Stringing isn’t on the page you sent, nor zits. ( The correct link is Stringing and oozing | Bambu Lab Wiki )

I’ve already followed the stringing wiki, but I’m not adjusting my retraction to fix it, as that’s a temporary solution to a new problem that didn’t occur before.

It printed fine before I left, but now does not. So I guess my question is does an uneven surface cause stringing? or could being on a thicker carpet cause stringing

Your printer should sit straight, no matter how its positioned , its in a rigid frame, unless you have damaged it that is.

May i also add without sounding rude , if you dont want advice dont ask for it.

Is it possible to move the printer to a hard floor for a test? You are saying everything was fine, you moved the printer and now it strings during that print? In my experience wet filament causes stringing, but you dried it, so it must be the carpet or damaged during the move.

Edit I don’t have a P1P so maybe it’s possible the nozzle change could also be the culprit?

Turns out you were right ?

I went:

  • Basic pla big print, stringing and oozing. ( managed to set the print settings to matte…)
  • Matte pla small print, stringing and oozing. ( managed to set the print settings to basic…)
  • Basic PLA with Basic PLA, wet filament ( same filament as #1)
  • Finally dried and then had basic filament with matte settings…
  • Basic PLA with Basic PLA settings, dried works great now…

I think the addition of the SD Card compared to the desktop app managed to confuse me, and lead me to use the wrong settings multiple times, with of course, some wet pla in the mix.

Thanks!

“RTFM” was what I gathered from your answer, and the answer wasn’t in the link provided.

I didn’t mean to come across as rude, thanks for your reply, turns out it was my own stupidity so it’s all fixed
