I did something today I’d been planning to anyway, I switched to LAN-only mode.
That very significantly improved the camera performance in BambuStudio. It removes the ability to use the BambuHandy mobile app, but frankly, I considered that to be more of a novelty anyway.
Possibly this was an issue with BambuLabs’ cloud servers, maybe something else. But it looks like it’s not a hardware issue. Well, except for a marginal camera to begin with…
I am also not seeing anything but the black screen and the ‘loading’ message. I’m sad about this because I was wanting to start a print and leave home being able to monitor it on the go. I knew it was a slow frame rate, but it would at least let me monitor for spaghetti failures, etc.
Same here, seems tied to ‘busy’ hours of the day maybe? As in, not enough servers. Annoying to be refreshing 10 times to - maybe - get something on the screen. Barely useable feature at the moment.
Same experience for me, thinking of rigging up a wyze camera. This issue and an issue with a overly sensitive tangle detection sensor (which I disabled) are the two main issues I have with the A1. Everything else works flawlessly and I’m printing so much.
Same here on brand new A1. Camera does not work full stop. I also try to retrieve/view the timelapse footage and it says “not possible with this version”? Not sure what I do with that…
Same - 2 week old A1 - camera loads when it feels like it. One time it’ll load, sometimes on the app on WIn 11, sometimes on the iPhone/iPad - but it’s temperamental as hell.
This happens to me quite frequently on my full size A1 but not on the A1 mini.
My camera doesn’t seem to work anymore - I wonder if there was a change.
In an attempt to fix it, I toggled camera to off during a print and now can’t re-enable it (it’s currently in a middle of a 12 hour print).
I’ve only had my X1C for a couples weeks. it’s also my first 3d printer. my camera worked fine for the first two prints then stopped with the error 90.
my fix was to remove the sd card and plug into windows. windows says the sd card is corrupted and i let it fix it. once fixed in windows i put it back into the X1C and all is good.
What kind of frame rate did you get out of the camera in Lan only mode?!?!?
I have a Wyze camera hooked up to mine now there are plenty of A1 mount options in the Market Place
There are a lot of problems with my camera and the Bambu Lab applications. I’m not sure, but it seems to be issues with the Bambu Lab server because the feed of the camera through the local network works perfectly… at 5fps, of course. I haven’t configured my printer in LAN mode, but I can access the camera through home automation software, Home Assistant in my case.
I have a Home assistant Green setup I would love to pick your brain on how to get the printer and camera added
Here you have the integration.
It is completely explained, but if you need some help, I can give you a hand.
I got it I had to install the HACS(community store)
Does it work for you?
Were you able to turn it back on after that print?
It did work for me Home Assistant seems to have a low FPS, but, constant video feed
Yes, the camera provides only 5fps
, but at least the video streaming is consistent and doesn’t depend on an external server… ![]()
This is true and I am still at the mind set that the frame rate limit is on the processor / encoder side of the house and not the physical camera
