Sudden poor layer adhesion

I just did the flow dynamics and flow rate calibration on my p1s. Everything was looking much better on my prints, until about 3 prints later. Suddenly it’s missing the layers, it’s ruining prints because of of extremely noticeable print lines. At some points it just doesn’t adhere and you can see through it. Other times the filament just starts fraying. It just slowly gets worse. First the lines are suddenly noticeable. Then, it’s as if it missed layers. Then it suddenly just doesn’t work at all. Please let me know how to fix this. I have a .4 mm nozzle.

0.16 fine quality
Black pla and gray pla
Nozzle: 215
Heatbed: 55

Print lines become noticeable

It’s now just missing lines (this is after the print before)

The last print just completely failed.

I am scared to print more things because it seems to only get worse.

It does look like a nozzle clog.

I have never had much luck with anything other than the “Hot hex wrench” method though. And best to do it 2-3 times in a row, just to be on the safe side.

Other causes for this type of error are usually too much friction in the PTFE’s, dirt/dust/residue in the extruder or (very rare) really bad filament (i.e. far from round).

I have never had to change my nozzle or unclog before. What is the best way to approach this?

My brother has the same issue, were on the latest firmware for both bambu studio and his p1s. We also just did those calibrations for the flowrate and the other one, and all was fine and quality was good but we immediately noticed that the adhesion was worse and got worse… we printed a benchy right after calibrations and that went well and then we moves to other prints and that got worse…

Funny thing is, his printer is 2 weeks old! And he uses basic pla from bambu wich has been dried for 8 hours as well…

By knowing that you can do it and not being nervous about it  :+1:

First, you should run through the wiki entry, check the video and then take your time to slowly work your way through it.
You’ll need to be careful with the wires but other than being fiddly, it is nothing to worry about.
The only annoying thing is to find that it did not work and needs to be repeated. Or doing it carefully only to eliminate a nozzle clog as the problems root cause. But there’s not much that can be done about that.
