Suggestion for Bambu Marketing

Not sure if this has already been suggested but here it goes…

@BambuLab … since purchasing my H2D, it has run almost non-stop. At different times, I’ve had to use refill filament instead of my preference of purchasing filament with a spool. Almost 50% of the refill filaments end up jamming in my AMS which causes me A LOT of frustration. So, here is my suggestion to Bambu Marketing:

If a customer ships back to Bambu (shipping cost paid by customer) empty spools, for each 10 spools Bambu will give the customer store credit of $25. The retail value of 10 spools is ~$90, so Bambu makes $$ on the exchange. PLUS, I suspect it would cause more customers to purchase more filament with spools (more profit for Bambu) and finally, since store credit is a retail value Bambu makes more profit again.

So basically, for every 10 spools a customer ships back, the customer gets a free spool of filament or can purchase other accessories. This will also reduce the number of filaments only offered as refill as Bambu will have more spools to reuse.

Just buy any carton spool, tear off sides and put it onto Bambu spool… On a good side you will get a better filament for cheaper.
Bambu refills are a joke, almost half of them in my possession are jamming from being pinched or tangled.

I’d like to see spool recycling.

However your maths seems wrong. A human has to check those spools, and the calculation you used is based on retail not manufacturing price.

You can reuse the RFID tags from Bambu spools by sticking them on other spools, so you don’t really need to use Bambu filament to gain the full benefits of the AMS. I find Sunlu quite cheap and reliable (it’s about 9 euro per kilo, just avoid their Matte PETG High Speed). I print a spool ring to bring the diameter of the Sunlu spool to the same as Bambu, and then sellotape an RFID tag on.

You can also respool using a pair of rollers.
