You’ve described the community as “DIY-spirited community” in the Spaghetti Monsters blog.

Given that understanding, Bambulab clearly knows that many of its customers are constantly tinkering with our setups and therefore value options to enhance our experience.

So here’s a simple idea: offer upgrades to legacy printers. Give people the opportunity to enhance their printers with better and newer options. We get to trick-out our rigs, you make money. Isn’t that fair?

Here are just a few ideas (obviously biased towards the P1 given its customizability), but I’m sure others will chime in with even more imaginative suggestions.

  1. Offer the removable nozzle as found on the A1 as an upgrade to both the P1 and X1 series.
  2. A color touch screen upgrade for the P1 series or even just an improved larger format mechanical button front panel for the P1 series.
  3. Right-hinge door option or better yet, split door option to allow the glass door to take up less room.
  4. A purpose-built storage platform that has maybe a set of split side by side drawers to store one’s tools. It doesn’t have to be big, perhaps maybe 40mm - 60mm in height. There are enough examples on the web to show that such a thing has interest but none of them are a single unit purpose-built integrated item that enhances the appearance and functionality of the printer.
  5. Improved camera with higher frame rate and perhaps the ability to focus the angle to specific areas. Right now, the current camera is not very good for the P1.
  6. Better light options or the ability to place a light in a different locations.
  7. USB interface or wired LAN Interface add-on.

Upgrade the bed on the A1 Mini to print ASA…So I don’t have to work around it

I was disappointed with the P series nozzles after enjoying the A series way of doing things. Obviously they had time to come up with a better version with the newer series.

I have long-believed this is a worthwhile upgrade.

I imagine a P2S will come with one. I also imagine they are concerned with cannibalising their future P series and existing X series printers.

I never even considered this an issue, I am not saying it isn’t one, just I never thought about it. As a very disabled person with little control over my limbs, you would have thought I would have!

I only considered this one over the past few days after seeing the post about other people’s storage.

If you had used the A series camera, you wouldn’t have an issue with the P series one.

Again, they are concerned with cannibalising their existing X series printers.

I could go either way on this, but, better is better and I like better.

They sell kits for this in the accessories section.

I have really enjoyed the whole cloud solution, I do not miss USB, SD Cards or other manual methods.

The physical LAN option is a good one, I have a 32-port switch in my home and a very fast internal network. My very strong, thick brick-built house (internal walls as well) is a nightmare for WiFi. It works, but, working better is always good.

I have long wanted upgrades, I am not talking about spares, I am talking about maximising my investment in my hobby.

I would add an eight.

  1. AMS that has active drying and scales for each spool that tells BS & BH if you have enough filament left to complete the print you are hoping to start.
