Sunlu has supposedly posted the winners list on facebook for the free i10s for those that posted their order numbers. Haven’t seen it to verify but if anyone entered the giveaway…
Still no new word on when in December shipping will start.
Oh man. I hate to be that guy, but that Chrome Centipede image is AI-generated. There are a lot of tells when you start looking at the details. Ran it through a couple of analysis tools to sanity check myself; they agree. (One puts about a 40% probability of being generated by HiDream, one of the image generator services designed for business uses.)
Good spot, @Bratling. Be that guy. They are being deceptive. It looked impressive at first but is pure hokum. I looked right past the defects.
If PETG USA is going to pass an AI image off as how they manufacture, that’s enough for me. It is AI generated by everything I can see.
The pre-extrusion drying likely helps. The sieves and gel both in packed filament seem reasonable. But the 30% first circle so small changes that do matter get missed by customers, using RH instead of weight percent which implies a way of testing that needs clarification, and now this, I won’t be buying anything from them.
Maybe I’m being too harsh but trying to pass an AI image off as actual production (I saw no disclaimer) is not being honest and makes me wonder what else is fudged and by how much.
They MUST pre-dry it though, so I would never count this as some kind of marketable concept. It’s kind of like giving someone a pat on the back for showing up on time to work.
Any remaining moisture is burned off in a combo of hydrolysis and by virtue of melting the plastic, so the product straight out of anyone’s filament extruder is dryer than it will ever be in any of our printers.
Makes sense. So yay! Something else a bit questionable. Sigh.
I’m still assuming (as above) that his manufacturer is Yu Bros, so if I’m wrong then my other observation about his production aren’t relevant.

Here’s yet another moisture number from his site, this time .12% (1200 ppm, much more realistic for filament)
And the weird reference to Optical Clarity and Transparency, those are bulk material specs.
And these are not expensive multi-axis ovality sensors on the line, these are just inexpensive single axis (diameter) gauges, so “tightly controlled ovality” is unlikely.

That is me
I almost instantly ordered a second one when I saw I won, but decided I would wait and see how the first one works out. Also, waiting for the refund in my account… I’m still in shock over the whole thing, never thought I really had a chance at winning figured most giveaways were a scam or made up. ![]()
Wow! Congrats! Now does it get you priority shipping?
