SUNLU PLA Meta Help

Hello All,

I have had my A1 +AMS since Mid November and have been having a blast with it. So far I have had really amazing print results with Bambu Basic PLA as well as Sunlu PLA+ and Elegoo PLA+

Over the weekend I picked up a roll of what I thought was standard Sunlu PLA but it is actually PLA Meta. This morning I printed a fairly intricate napkin holder for a family member using Bambu Generic PLA profile and after the print had finished I noticed lots of really fine almost cobweb looking strings. After doing some research I realized that the Meta PLA can be printed at a lower temperature than regular PLA so I tweaked the profile for this filament so that the nozzle temp was in the middle of the recommended range at 190C. The reprint came out way better so then I printed a Benchy and it was not quite as good a print as I have had with my other filaments. I took the spool off and noticed there were some extra settings for the nozzle temp:
185C - 195C (50 -100 mm/s)
195C - 225C (100 - 200mm/s)

I looked into the speed settings of the A1 profile but am a bit lost at which setting I need to adjust for either of the above nozzle temps. There seems to be quite a few different speeds settings.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

For me, Meta printed best at around 160*-165*.

It’s possible they changed something because it no longer says 160*.

I did look up the PLA Meta on their website which is where I got the temps I posted from then I realized there was more information on the actual spool

You need to adjust the filament profile by clicking on the little square next to the filament name

That is where I adjusted the nozzle temp and build plate temp but I only see this in the speed section

This does not look like the correct speed referenced on the spool label

There is an entire speed section, use that

That is what I originally posted, I just was not sure which value to set to say 100 mm/s, is it all of them?

Yes, if you want to print faster you could only change outer wall speed, but I would recommend changing all of them.

Thank you for the reply,
I may not have been making myself too clear, Lets say I wanted to have a print speed of 100 mm/s to match the nozzle temp of 185 - 195C do I then change everything below to 100 mm/s?

Reducing the max volumetric speed (MVS from here on) in the filament settings will cause bambu studio to limit speeds in other settings that are greater than the filament can handle.

Some people think that the high fluidity of the Meta means it’s a high speed filament, but this is not true. Using any default PLA settings will probably have a MVS that’s too high.

This post explains how to calculate the MVS, with the info most manufacturers give. Click to read the whole post.

Thank you I will take a look at the post you linked.
I did get much better results by reducing the nozzle temp. It has been a good learning curve buying this filament by mistake lol.
