Support interface (dark green) wrapping arround object

As you can see on the image the dark green support interface is wrapping arround the hairs making it impossible to remove after printing. After 5 failed attempts with support painting and block I am lost. Which setting is causing this or better which slicer setting can prevent this?

can’t see all of it, but may be better to turn it upside down, or some other angle.

As @debonr alluded, it’s hard to visualize what remedy may be viable without seeing the entire model as it sits on the build plate. Often the solution is a combination of tricks. You mentioned you tried painting the seams but from the little I can see, it looks like you’re “crowding” the model.

Based on the small field of view, It looks like you’re trying to support either model with hair or some type of clothing. I hate to say it, that simply won’t work out well. You can get it to work but you’ll have to get creative in how you position the model in such a way as to provide support underneath the most solid segments(assuming there are segments) and perform some minimal post processing afterwards.

If you you want more help, please post a zoomed out shot of the model as it sits on the build plate when you slice it. If the model is not proprietary, upload it here so we can inspect your 3MF file and members of the community can give you more granular feedback and suggestions.

Heres two ideas. Neither perfect.

This might be one of those rare situations in which you could disable interface layers. Then set the minimum tip size (Don’t have the slicer in front of me and can’t remember the name of that attribute) to something like 1mm. You also might try organic supports sometimes they get a bit more creative.

One other thought. I can’t see enough of the model to know, but could you turn the model upside down so that the hair could print without supports? If not fully upside down, maybe rotated to a degree that supports aren’t required. Other parts of your model will then need supports, but they may be easier to support parts.

I cant upload the 3mf since these files are from GamBody
I tried up side down but then the top of top piece isnt smooth at all because of the support under it. The 2 photos are from the piece without any manual support blocking or adding. Its now printing the model where I first blocked big parts of the hair and then add supports where I want them. In the slicer it looks wat beter now.

The example you shared is absolutely amazing—seriously, that’s the model from hell! With crazy details on every side you’d want to support, it’s the kind of challenge that would make most people throw in the towel. But you absolutely nailed it!!!

Honestly, I didn’t think this level of output was even possible with FDM printing. If someone had shown me this without telling me, I’d have sworn it was resin.

At this point, I doubt many of us could offer suggestions to improve what you’ve achieved. If anything, we should be asking you for tips because the level of detail here is just next-level. Amazing work my friend!!!

Thanks for the kind words! I have been messing arround with support setting and the prinprofile for a bit. Have printed 8 torso’s in the proces  So far sunlu PLA meta seems to give the best results. Support break off more easly also.

With my last attempt I have all his hairs support correctly just some more minor details and I am happy. Have a 3d printer since 5 weeks and getting too learn all the settings. Good fun. I have lots to print from gambody and lootstudio.
