Using TPU to make some flexible parts. The geometries require support material. Made a few of the designs and came out ok, but required a lot of support material that was difficult to remove. What is everyone using for support material to make TPU parts?
You need a filament with preferably a higher print temp than the TPU.
But I had quite good result using just PETG.
Even if it stick too badly at times it is quite easy to get of the supports as long as you can reach them with a sharp blade or electronics side cutter.
I have PETG. I also have the AMS, but don’t think I can run the TPU in it. How would I set it up to use the PETG as the support material with the TPU?
Best option would be to use the AMS rated TPU if you need supports, all else is a pain IMHO.
How about a support material with NylonX?
If you’re using AMS tpu, just use the cheapest PLA you can find with a 0 Z gap (any higher and you start getting flecs of PLA interwoven with the TPU). - PLA doesn’t bond with TPU, I use it frequently for something I used to print on an IDEX but have been printing on the X1 since the AMS TPU came out
