Hello, I have a particular print that I am printing at at 45 degree angle and using support’s to ensure the model can stand up as the print develops. The shape of the model is basically a dinner plate, round with very smooth finish on the rounded sides that would come in contact with the support.
What is occurring at about 6% into the print the model begins to wobble out of the support and eventually completely pops out. I have tried a variety of different levels of using the normal support option, auto, auto with painting a more aggressive support structure basically completely surrounding the model however the bottom of the model, plate always wobbles out at roughly 6%. I realize printing this laying down is the easy way to get this print to work which I have already done, works fine however I am doing this to compare the difference between details and overall quality between a flat version and version printed at 45 degrees. I have also considered printing at 90, standing straight up however there is additional structure in the middle of the front that requires extensive support, this is not really a plate, just shaped like one.
The small bottom portion of the model that pops out has very smooth rounded surface and it looks to me what is occurring is the model is not adhering to the support. The photos show the base of the model in the support and popped out.
Lastly, I have done some printing with other flat prints at an angle which are typically more square or rectangle without issue however with this one being round seems like a different animal all together. Any ideas on settings or ideas on how to get this to print at the angle would be appreciated.
