Is it possible to reduce the support speed using a modifier? Trying to print some tall and narrow supports on top of “Support for ABS” but they fall off before a bridge is laid down on top to reinforce. I would like to slow the speed of the supports for certain layers, but can only find the support speed setting for the entire plate (not for object or modifier).
I’d suggest the other way round as modifier options are limited.
Set the global speeds to what you want for the support and then set higher object speeds.
Just wondering about the problem you are trying to solve. Falling supports (due to curling)?
Thanks, will give that a try. I have a few other fallback options (slow global support speed, eliminate Support filament for interface, or use supports from buildplate only) but was trying to use the creators profile, and was inquiring for future knowledge. Here are the details as you may have another suggestion than what I mentioned above…
I am printing this re-spooler and the slider part needs support under the cylinder. In my screenshots, yellow is ABS and white is ABS Support filament (interface layers only). The two legs of the “support” (boxed in red) sit on top of the Support filament and the legs are not attached to the main body on the vertical sides until it reaches the blue arrow where it bridges across the top. When I initially printed it, the legs fell off right before the bridging and I believe it may be because the nozzle made contact and knocked off since its only attached to the Support filament at the bottom. Top Z distance and top interface spacing are set to 0 in slicer, everything else is default.
I do not print ABS but would suggest to halve the layer height to counteract curling before the bridge is made.
